Endobronchial Leiomyomaa Case Report

Abstract

|
Endobronchial leiomyoma is extremely rare benign tumor of lower respiratory system. we have experienced a case of leiomyoma in the left lower lobe of the lung, a 29 year old female found incidentally. Preoperative studies revealed the tumor nature as benign, and we chose segmentectomy through mini-thoracotomy rather than classical posterolateral thoracotomy. postoperative histological diagnosis was confirmed as endobronchial leiomyoma. The early diagnosis and appropriate surgical treatment to preserve pulmonary function are important points of consideration.
